Sherri's Front Porch: The White Aluminum That Matched the House
Sherri needed a porch to complete her new home, and she found her contractor in the school car line: one of the owners comes through to drop off his kids with the big True logo across his truck. When the team came out, she says, they met her needs and were responsive and respectful about everything she wanted.
Her favorite moment was the reveal: she expected silver-looking aluminum, and instead the finished porch came out white, matching her house and shutters perfectly. Her closing line on camera: "I would give them five stars for the job that they did."
Front porches and entry enclosures: the overlooked project
Backyards get the attention, but a front porch enclosure works every single day: a shaded, bug-free landing at the door, packages out of the rain, and a finished face on the front of the house. The design stakes are higher in front - rooflines, columns, and colors are on display to the street - which is why entry projects reward a contractor who asks what the house looks like, not just what the slab measures. HOAs also watch front elevations most closely, so approvals belong at the start of the conversation.
Aluminum colors and finishes: why Sherri's porch is white
- Enclosure aluminum comes factory-finished, most commonly white or bronze (dark brown-black)
- White disappears against most Florida trim and keeps structures visually light, which is why it dominates front-of-house work
- Bronze reads as modern and hides against dark screens for the most transparent view from inside
- The finish is baked on, not painted on site - it needs washing, never repainting, for decades
- Match hardware and gutters to the frame color so the structure reads as one piece with the house
