Meet Garrett Awwad: From Helper to Project Manager, 15 Years In
Garrett Awwad has been in the aluminum business for over 15 years, starting as a helper and working his way up to project manager at True Aluminum. His day-to-day, in his own words: going over the current jobs daily, designing each project with the engineers, applying for the necessary permits, and addressing whatever problems the day produces.
Why he does it: seeing jobs from the very beginning to the end - "it's my satisfaction to give the homeowners their outdoor living dream." He also gives the fullest service list on the channel: screen enclosures, pool cages, lanai wraps, seamless gutters, Renaissance patio products, carports, full cage rehabs with pressure washing and screw change-outs, rescreens, and super gutter replacements.
Engineering and permits, from the PM's chair
Notice what sits in the middle of Garrett's job description: designing each project with the engineers and applying for permits. That is not bureaucratic overhead - it is the structural insurance policy on your enclosure. Every Florida enclosure is a wind structure, so the PM's first real deliverable is a set of sealed drawings matching your address's code wind speed, and his second is a permit that puts county inspectors on the job at the moments that matter: when footers are open, when connections are visible, when the structure is done. A project manager who owns that paper trail personally is the reason the finished cage is not just pretty but provable - to the county, to your insurer, and to the next owner of your home.
