A Shower Becomes a Bathtub in Plant City
Cynthia owns Universal Auto Sales right in Plant City, and she called True Builders for a conversion most remodel lists forget: turning her shower into the bathtub she genuinely needed. This video shows the finished project and her experience with the crew.
Shower-to-tub: why the direction of a conversion matters
Most conversions go tub-to-shower, so a shower-to-tub project surprises people with its scope. A tub needs what a shower did not: framing and floor structure rated for several hundred pounds of water plus a bather, a drain relocated and sized to the tub's outlet, a valve set at tub height, and an apron or deck built and finished. In other words, it is real plumbing and carpentry, not a swap. If a bathtub matters to your household, whether for kids, soaking, or resale, it is entirely buildable; just budget for a conversion, not an install.
Small bathroom remodels: what actually moves the needle
- Fix the layout problem first; a door that clears the vanity beats any finish upgrade
- Wall-hung or narrow-depth vanities buy floor space the eye reads as room
- Large-format tile with fewer grout lines makes a small room feel calm, not busy
- A properly sized exhaust fan protects every dollar of the remodel from humidity
- Lighting at face height at the mirror, not just overhead, changes the room's daily usefulness
